Vincent Nicod, you founded Perfogroup in 2010 with your co-director José Gonzalez. Today, you have 68 employees. Your business has changed profoundly in 14 years. What's your vision for the future?
We specialize in security installations, including fire protection, emergency and professional lighting, and professional sound systems.
Today, we want to move towards sustainability, and have made eight key commitments to optimize, do our job better, and work on processes throughout the value chain, from suppliers to customers.
Why has sustainability become an objective for Perfogroup?
Our cllients are often large groups and international companies, who are increasingly asking us for information on sustainability. For example, we have to plan the carbon footprint of deliveries for certain projects. Until now, this wasn't part of our remit; we had to take the word of our suppliers and hauliers. For us, it's part of our credibility and professional approach to be able to guarantee that the information is correct. So we took the decision to develop sustainability in-house in order to master this element. This makes Perfogroup both sustainable and economical.
How did you experience La Fabrique Circulaire program?
Following the diagnosis, we decided to carry out a carbon assessment. We arrived at an overall balance of 8,000 tonnes of CO2. Now that we've established the starting point, it's time to work on improvements and measure them. To this end, we have decided to hire an internal environment and quality manager. This person will have to update the processes and ERP and set up a quality process.
Sustainable products need to be more robust, repairable and, if possible, multi-functional.
What's next for Perfogroup?
Our aim is to get our employees, suppliers and customers to embrace the principles of sustainable development and the circular economy. We are developing a range of sustainable products in collaboration with a supplier who will be certified internally. Acceptance of repaired products is gradually increasing among our customers. Sustainable products need to be more robust, repairable and, if possible, multifunctional.
